Facility

Situated only 25 minutes south east of Hobart, in Tasmania, Australia, EQUUS is in the heart of the South Arm Reserve which is 'dream horse country'. The property is bounded by the Tangara Trail, a public trail established especially for horse riders, winding through beautiful bushland with stunning views and trails to a variety of beaches.

EQUUS equestrian centre has been setup in accordance with the HorseSafe Code of Practice and is an accredited member of the Australian Horse Riding Centres. The Centre is fully equipped with Stables, Classrooms, Stalls, Day & Night Yards, Fenced Sanded Arena, Round Yard and Horse Play Area to undertake horse training and instruction in a safe environment.

Safety

Safe, enjoyable experiences with horses is our priority.

EQUUS is required to maintain a high level of safety and care for our horses, clients and staff. Thats not to say being associated with horses is without risk, as with any

adventure sport, there is an element of risk that goes with the excitement, but we pride ourselves on our ability to maintain safety while providing an enjoyable experience.

All students are to first complete an Assessment Session upon Enrolment which

assesses level of Horsemanship and a Safety Induction for the Centre's Safety

Procedures and ensuring all participants and spectators are aware and implement

the EQUUS Rules.

Safety is everybody's business!

All staff are qualified and experienced horse people, have first aid certificates and are

trained to help students with their needs. Our horses are chosen and trained to work

together and are kept in good condition by managing their workloads, proper feed and

nutrients, care for their physical needs and plenty of love and attention. EQUUS horses are not used hour after hour to generate income, our horses have fun & exciting lessons no more than twice a day, twice a week and the sessions are broken up with

a variety of exercises both at liberty, on line and mounted.

Facility Hire

EQUUS facilities are available to individuals or organisations for hire. EQUUS has Stables, Classroom, Day & Night Yards, Fenced Sanded Arena, Round Yard and Horse Play Ground, Kitchenette (stocked Tea Coffee Snacks), Toilet and an added bonus to the Centre, direct access onto the beautiful Tangara Trails, leading through bushland to local beaches. Short term agistment is also available whilst using the facilities/services.
